There are wide variety of groups that use the hall and the church,
please contact them directly for more information.
A brief overview of all the groups are below.


Cherubs Parent & Toddler Group

Cherubs  meets on Friday mornings during the normal school term from 9:30am to 11:15am. A small craft activity is provided together with lots of toys, role play activities, puzzles and play dough. We also have a dedicated baby area with soft mats and appropriately aged toys. The group finishes with a singing session. There is a small admission charge to cover costs of the activities. No need to book, all welcome.

Relax Kids

Fun classes for children and teens which incorporate movement, games, stretching, massage, breathing techniques, positive affirmations and relaxation.

Katie runs sessions on a Mondays at 4:30pm, Saturday's at 10:30am, plus a new Home Ed Group on Mondays during the day, and specail holiday sessions. Booking essential.

Footlights Dance

Footlight Dance Academy, incorporating Born2Perform, is a long established organisation offering dance and musical theatre training to a variety of ages throughout the local area. Footlight offer a warm and nurturing environment for ages 3+, and many of the footlight students have gone on to work in musical theatre and with professional dance companies.

Colehill and Ferndown Community Choir

Colehill & Ferndown Community Choir is a fifty-sixty strong four part non-auditioning community choir who meet every Thursday at 7:30pm till 9:00pm in the church. It is not essential to read music, but does help. They have three performances each year. £2 per person. All welcome.

Wimborne Music Society

Wimborne Music Society is a non-profit making Society which sponsors and promotes musical events in Wimborne and further afield. Its annual programme includes Concerts for Choir and Orchestra, a monthly"Sundays At 7.30" series of short Recitals, and occasional Day or Weekend Choral Workshops, usually in St. Michael’s Church Centre.

Providing round the year slimming support.

Quarterjack Quilters

Quarterjack Quilters is a Wimborne-based group of enthusiastic, friendly quilters who meet twice a month on Friday evenings to share ideas and learn new skills.  Our programme includes workshops run by well known outside experts as well as skilled members of the group.

Women's Institute: Stitch Craft Group

Among our various activities we hold a stitch-craft group, which meets in the Alec Moore room of the Church. Centre on the 1st and 3rd Monday mornings.
The regular meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, except August, at Colehill Memorial Hall. We meet monthly and have speakers on a wide range of topics. The meetings are lively and friendly with a mixed age group and time for coffee or tea during the evening. Outings to a variety of places of interest are arranged during the year. Visitors are welcome at all meetings

Kurling (Brendoncare)

Kurling is an indoor version of the exciting game of ice kurling. This is an addictive game with a competitive edge, adapted for all abilities to join in. It's a friendly club that can get quite competitive over a game kurling! We always have a laugh so come and join us!

Every Fridays, 1:15pm - 2:45pm.

Dorset Creative Writing Network

Do you want to be more creative but lack confidence? Have you got lots of ideas but don’t know where to start? Feel stuck? Lack inspiration? Your worries are over. Find friends, fun and support at a Colehill Creative Writing Group. They meet every fourth Friday in the Alec Moore Room from 1pm to 4pm.

The writing group is run by Cilla Sparks and supported by the Dorset Writer’s Network, www.dorsetwritersnetwork.co.uk - an organisation that inspires writers and connects creative communities through writing workshops, training and author events. We have found that writing boosts confidence, fuels imagination and even improves health.

The group is self supporting so there is a small termly charge to cover costs.


Mother's Union

Some members of the MUThe Mothers’ Union branch at St. Michaels is part of the Worldwide Mothers’ Union which is an organisation of over 3.6 million members, women and men, living in over 78 countries, who believe in the importance of families. As well as encouraging and supporting families and marriage, members work to reach out as God’s family to change lives and bring Christ’s hope to those who are isolated, in trouble or in need. The branch comes under the umbrella of the Mothers’ Union of the Salisbury Diocese.

The branch has around 30-40 members, and meets at 2.30pm on the 2nd Thursday of every month, except August. Each meeting begins with a short act of worship followed by a presentation from someone sympathetic to the aims and objects of the Mothers’ Union.

There is also a monthly Prayer Group, and a Corporate Communion service is held at 10.30am on the last Wednesday of every month.

The branch is always pleased to welcome new members and if you are interested in joining


East Dorset Buddism Group

The group meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. The meeting begins with a 30 minute period of sitting meditation which is preceded and concluded by some brief chanting. For those new to meditation there is the possibility of basic instruction. The group then usually reads a Buddhist publication which is discussed informally, or occasionally a tape by a Buddhist teacher is listened to and then discussed. Meetings may end with a further short period of meditation. No experience is necessary to attend meetings and anyone interest will be made welcome.

Brendoncare Gardening Club
New! Starting 10th June

Do you love to share gardening tips or finding out about new plants? Maybe you enjoy potting seeds and or growing your own vegetables? A new gardening club is coming to Colehill for everyone with an interest in horticulture, whether you’re a seasoned pro in the garden or a complete beginner. The weekly club will enjoy a range of garden-related activities from fun quizzes, a horticulture book lending library, information about different gardening topics and the chance to pot your own seeds to take home and watch grow. Alternatively, it is simply the chance to come along for tea and biscuits and a chat with others about all things gardening. Monthly trips to local garden centres are also planned for inspiration.

The club is run by Brendoncare Clubs, which runs over 90 clubs for older people across Dorset and Hampshire. Designed to bring people together and enjoy various activities, the clubs provide fun and friendship for older people.  

It will run every Saturday between 1.30pm and 3.30pm in the Alex Moore Room. The cost is £3 per session on a pay as you go basis.
