Virtual Christian Aid Week 10th-16th May
In response to the current situation around coronavirus, Christian Aid Week has moved online. This will undoubtedly be a different experience, but the aim is to keep the same life-changing week for partners and volunteers. Here are details of the various events and activities and I hope you will be able to join one or more of these.
Online Service on Sunday 10th May at 1.00pm and Daily Reflections during the rest of the week.
The week starts with a Sunday Service, celebrated by Dr Rowan Williams, and then every day during Christian Aid Week we’ll be joined by our global partners sharing reflections and prayers from the projects and countries where Christian Aid is fighting poverty. To get further details, you need to sign up on the Christian Aid website at
https://www.christianaid.org.uk/christian-aid-week/daily-prayer-reflection and give your name and email address.
Daily Online Quizzes - 10th to 16th May at 7.30pm
You, your family and your friends can all be a part of this virtual Christian Aid Week by joining the online community and taking part in the daily quizzes. There will be a new quiz each day from 10th to 16th May at 7.30pm on Facebook Live.
To get further details, you again need to sign up on the Christian Aid website, this time at
https://www.christianaid.org.uk/christian-aid-week/daily-quiz, and give your name and email address.
Making a Donation
During Christian Aid Week last year 57,000 people raised an incredible £8 million to help poor communities but the anticipated income this year is inevitably much less. By supporting Christian Aid, we show our concern and support for our global neighbours and that support is now needed more than ever with the Coronavirus emergency at the forefront, but there will also continue to be other emergencies caused by storms, floods and drought. If you wish to make a donation, please if possible give via the website at
https://www.christianaid.org.uk or call 020 7523 2269 to donate by telephone.
Please note, there is a delay in processing postal donations because of the Covid-19 virus.
We are looking forward to the time when we can actually meet you, our supporters, again in person. Meanwhile, please look at the Christian Aid website to see what is being achieved and consider signing up for the Sunday service, the daily reflections and the online quizzes.
With very best wishes
